PEKIN ARCHERS NEWSLETTER

It has been busy the last couple months at the range. We had a big tree fall from the storms landing on and damaging our bridge on the course. The tree was cut up and cleared from the bridge by Chris. A huge “THANK YOU” goes out to the following for the repair on the bridge. Chris Sanders, Grant Kerley, Kevin Roy, and Danny Terrill.  Looks great guys.

We had the tree service and Ameren out at Pekin Archery Club, they had a helicopter with ten huge blades clearing trees and brush from the powerlines that go through the archery club. It was a sight to see and experience.

Pekin Archers has been hosting a 3D league every Tuesday in the month of April and May. It has been rained out more times than actually getting to shoot the (10) targets placed on the range. We will have another attempt this Tuesday start time at 5pm, weather permitting.

“Thank You” to Kevin Roy, Grant Kerley, Danny Terrill, Chris Sanders, Anthony Jellison, Jason and Bethany Owen for setting up the 3D course for the shoot that was held May 4 & 5th. “Thank You” Nancy Kerley, Grant Kerley, Kevin Roy, and Chris Sanders for picking up the targets off the course.

On the schedule for next month:  3D shoot, June 1st & 2nd.

Pekin Park Kids summer program June 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th. Every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm., and S3DA ILLINOIS State Shoot on June 29th. Asking everyone’s help setting up and assisting with these events.

Scorecards from the 3D shoot from this past weekend. Grant Kerley 175 (20) targets, Pat Gale 286, Chris Reinmann 289, Chad B. 196, Dakota 252, Don Mathis 210, Matt Wetterow 294, Ronnie Price 240, Ellen Price 164, Ben Price 95, and Elizabeth Price 144.  Nice job everyone and thank you for supporting Pekin Archery Range.

Reminder to keep our ranges clean and free of trash. Always support our local archery clubs.
